Is It Over with Yet?

I'm so freaking tired of school right now. In past semesters, I took 15 hours per semester, however, for this current semester I decided to take it down a knot and only take 12 hours. I thought by taking only 12 hours it would be an easier workload for me. Well I was WRONG on that for sure. This semester of school has been so busy and hectic for I'm just ready to give up already. The only things that keeps me motivated to keep pushing through school is Josh (because he wants me to graduate college) and the fact that there is only 6 weeks of school left. I'm so ready for the summer to be here already.

Day 02-A Picture of You and the Person You Have Been Close with Awhile

I do have a picture of the person I have been close with for awhile but it will not let me upload the picture-sorry about that.
Anyways, the person is Raelle. We are only 2 days apart in birth and we have been friends for a long time now. She is married to a soldier (Army) and lives in Colorado with him now.

Me+Talking to Josh=Happiness

I talked to Josh yesterday!!!!

I was in Target yesterday doing a little shopping when Josh called my cell phone. We talked on the phone for almost 30 minutes (while I was walking around Target lol). It was just so wonderful to hear his voice again after almost a week of not hearing it. I just can't wait for him to be home already so he can hold me in his arms once more. I love and miss him so much.

Getting Through It

Slowly but surely I'm getting through this deployment one step at a time. It has been only a week since Josh has deployed, but it seems to me like a lifetime. I did not realize how hard this deployment would be until it started. So far it has been a difficult journey, but I know I can make it through this journey if I believe in myself and in Josh.

On a side note, I got to chat with Josh on Facebook for about 10 minutes last night; it was so nice hear that he is doing ok.

New Day

Today has been an ok day so far (considering how Mondays go anyways). I managed to get some homework done this morning and I also sent off Josh's care package (hope he likes it). This past Saturday night I had a girl's night with a friend from college and it was great!! I have not had that much fun with a girlfriend in quite a while. Yesterday (Sunday), I quit the Adkins Diet because it is just way too hard for me to stay on. So, I joined Weight Watchers online and so far I like it a lot more than Adkins. Hope this diet works better for me in the long run.

A More Relaxing Day Today

Today so far has been a more relaxing day I have had for a while. I managed to finish up my paper this morning over the seminar I went to this past week. I still need to do some finance homework *groan!*. After my midterm last night I went to Wal-Mart and got Josh a bunch of goodies for his first care package. Today I'm going to go to Dollar Market and pick up a few other things that I forgot to get last night. I hope to get back the pictures that Russell (the photographer) took of us hopefully tomorrow so I can put some of those pictures with Josh's care package. Tonight I'm having supper and seeing a movie with friend so it gives me something to look forward to.

Also, yesterday I chatted with Josh on Facebook for almost an hour. It was really nice just to talk to him again. I sure miss that boy. I really hope I get to hear his voice sometime soon!!

This Week Is Almost Done With...

This week is coming to a close, which I'm glad because it has been a very busy and hectic week for me. The seminar went all right last night; I left it before it was done with because it was suppose to last until 8:00 p.m. but when it hit 8:15 p.m. I was pretty tired and and I thought I had enough information about the seminar to write one page about it. This morning when I logged onto facebook I had a couple messages from Josh, which was nice. I hope I get to talk to him pretty soon. Today's schedule for me is to work all day and study for this retailing test that I have tonight at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully, tomorrow will be a little more relaxing for myself. This Sunday I plan to go to Wal-Mart and get Josh's first care package under way. I hope everyone has a good day today!!

A Better Day

Today was a better day for me. I got to talk to Josh this morning!!!!! It was so nice to hear his voice again it pretty much made my day. The half of the school project that was due today our group made an A on, so can't complain there. The test I took this past Tuesday I got it back today and I made an A on it too. Overall, this day has been good. Tonight I'm going back to school to go a seminar for extra credit for my promotions class. Still got to study some more this stupid retailing test I have Friday night ugh. I hope everyone else has had a good day today too!!

A Sad Day

My boyfriend is officially deployed now. Even though this deployment just started I miss him already. I just want this deployment to be over with already.

I still have a bunch of stuff to get done this week. I have a meeting this morning at school and tomorrow I have half of a project due and a seminar to attend tomorrow night. Friday night I have a midterm (which I have NOT studied for yet). The only thing I'm looking forward to this week is Saturday night when me and one of my friends from college are going to see a movie. It will be nice to hang out with another girl and actually have a good time.

My Semper Fidelis Poem

This a poem I wrote for Josh for our four year anniversary. I hope everyone likes it:

I thought I knew what love was about
until I saw you
no better friend, no better love than you
strong both inside and out
with a great heart and a great laugh
and I thought I knew what love was really about this time
I thought I knew what love was
until our one path separated into two paths
one was leaning towards to school
while the other one was uncertain where it wanted to go
but it soon made a decision that changed everything
and the paths met each other again at the crossroads
where they became one path once more
and I finally thought I figured out love
I thought I knew what love was
the day you left for boot camp
me saying goodbye to you while I shed silent tears
waiting for letters sent by you
treasuring every word that you write
reading your letters over and over again until I have them learnt by heart
and when I saw you once more after three, long months
my heart jumped out of my chest
proclaiming that I finally knew what love was really about
I thought I knew what love was
The day I heard you were going to deploy overseas
my heart was split into two pieces
one piece accepted the way it was and tried to toughen up
the other piece rebelled against it and cried its silent tears
but the two pieces came to an understanding
in order for this to work out they have to work together as one
so the two pieces merged as one whole heart yet again
but this time stronger and beating more than it has ever done before
and I thought for once and for all I have this thing called love all figured out
I thought I knew what love was
until one day it finally clicked with me
love has many different stages in life
there are some that are wonderful
while others can be hurtful
but whatever the stage of love is currently going on
there is one thing I will always know for sure
that my love for you will always be Semper Fidelis.

Today is the Day...

Today is the day that my boyfriend of over four years deploys. I have been dreading this event for a while now but it's going to happen whether I want it to happen or not.  However, I see this as a challenge that I must overcome and I very determined to meet this challenge head-on. I'll have college to keep me busy for another few months but when summer hits I'm going to be bored as hell so I need to find things to keep me occupied during the summer. Does anyone have any suggestions that could keep me busy during the summer?

What's with the Title?

Why did I choose Combat and Cowgirl Boots for the title of my blog? Put it simply my boyfriend is a Marine so he wears combat boots. I'm from the South so my cowgirl boots are my favorite thing to wear everywhere. Put two together and that is the result.

Just A Regular Day

Today was just another regular day for me. Woke up late, played video games, exercised, got ready, and came to the Boro. Now I'm just waiting around for it to be 7:00 p.m. because that is when my meeting begins. On a side note me and mom started the Adkins Diet today-I really hope this diet works because I need to lose weight badly. Wish me luck getting through this week!

Surprise!!

My sweetie surprised me yesterday by sending me flowers to my workplace. It made my day! Love you Josh!!!!

My First Blog

Hello, I'm new to this whole blogging thing and I thought I would try it out and see if I like it.

My spring break from school was this past week and sadly it's coming to a end. Next week will be very hectic for me as I have two tests, half of a project due, and two meetings. Also next week is when I say goodbye to my boyfriend for a while (something I'm not looking forward to at all). I just can't wait for next week to be over with already. I hope everyone has a good day today and a good rest of the week.
